Glencore's metals and minerals marketing business increased its revenue during the first half of 2012, boosted by higher volumes of iron ore and copper, despite continued economic uncertainty and a lower commodity price environment, the Switzerland-based commodities group said Tuesday. Marketing revenues in H1 2012 were 26.4 billion dollars versus 20.7 billion dollars in H1 2011, an increase of 28%. “This growth was principally driven by increased volumes, particularly in copper and, to a lesser extent, iron ore,” Glencore said in a statement.
