Turkish scrap prices hit six-year low on falling offers

Ferrous scrap prices to Turkey hit a six-year low Thursday, as offer levels continued to drop and sources said the Turkish ferrous scrap market was unworkable above $240/mt. Platts assessed HMS I/II 80:20 CFR Turkey at $238/mt, down $6/mt on the day and breaking the price level seen on April 20, 2009 when Platts assessed scrap at $242.50/mt.
