Spot iron ore slackens after one day uptick

The spot iron ore market returned to business as usual Wednesday, after a one day uptick, as dwindling activity dampened prices. Platts assessed the 62% Fe Iron Ore Index down 75 cents on day at $55.25/dry mt CFR North China. Tuesday’s rise was caused by rising steel prices over the weekend, with sellers taking the opportunity to get slightly higher levels and buyers taking positions.
