Fresh trades show softerTurkish scrap market

The Turkish scrap importmarket softened Thursday as trades wereconcluded at lower levels. Platts assessmentof premium heavy melting scrap I/II (80:20) imports fell $4/mt on day to$171/mt CFR.A UK merchant sold a cargo to an electricarc furnace-based producer containing23,000 mt of 80:20 at $172/mt CFR,5,000 mt of shred at $177/mt CFR and8,000 mt of bonus at $182/mt CFR. Thecargo was confirmed with a source closeto the deal and was for end-November/firsthalf of December shipment.
