Manabi forming iron ore logistics strategy in Brazil

Pre-operational Brazilian mining company Manabi has started to form its logistics strategy to explore iron ore from the Pilar project and take it to the planned Porto Norte port. The company may build an extensive pipeline to reach port facilities or use a mixed pipeline-railway system. A dedicated slurrypipe would extend for 530 km, from southeast Minas Gerais state to its port located in Linhares, Espirito Santo state, while a mixed project would have a 170 km pipeline to the Vitória-Minas Gerais railway.
