Turkish mills remained active in the deep-sea and short-sea steel scrap markets this week as prices retreated slightly from earlier highs, market sources said Wednesday. The latest deep-sea deal was booked from a US supplier at 451.50 dollars/mt CFR for heavy melting scrap I/II (80/20 blend), shredded at 456.50 dollars/mt and plate and structural at 461.50 dollars/mt CFR, which went to a mill in the Marmara region early this week. Another large US supplier also sold at 451 dollars/mt CFR for HMS I/II (80/20 blend) and 456 dollars/mt CFR Marmara for shredded to a second long products mill.
