Spot seaborne iron ore bound for Asia rallied Monday on improvements in steel prices and global equity markets, although most participants questioned the sustainability of the upswing. Platts assessed the 62% Fe Iron Ore Index 50 cents higher at 117.75 dollars/dry mt CFR North China. This is the first rise in 23 trading days, when the IODEX 62% Fe price rose 2.50 dollars/dmt to 137.75 dollars/dmt CFR North China on July 3.
