Mechel suspends mining at Bluestone in US

Russian miner and steel producer Mechel announced Monday a temporary suspension of mining operations at its US mining division, Bluestone, in West Virginia, “owing to accumulated inventories of coal.” Mechel said mining at Keystone, Justice Energy and Dynamic Energy will be suspended for two to three months, while the frontier mine in Wyoming County, a part of Dynamic Energy, as well as the K-2, Red Fox and Coal Mountain washing plants, will all continue operating.
