Freight rates in the Capesize market remain subdued Thursday, and have declined slightly over the last week despite a pick-up in fixing activity with the major miners actively securing tonnages in the Atlantic and Pacific basins. A Norway-based shipbroker said high bunkering costs were forcing many shipowners to lay-up vessels with margins on fixtures at low levels.
