Korean domestic scrap prices sliding on weak steel

Korean mini-mills have started cutting their domestic scrap costs over the last week, in line with market expectations. Hyundai Steel, the country's largest scrap consumer, has decided to lower its purchasing prices by Won 10,000-15,000 mt (8.8-13.2 dollars/mt) from Friday (September 14) onwards, it told Platts Steel Business Briefing Monday.
