Kumba, ArcelorMittal SA deadline passes, no deal yet

Kumba is now looking to get market prices for its ore, but AMSA prefers to keep the incumbent (and preferential) deal in place. The deal that expired on Tuesday allowed AMSA to pay just 50 dollars/mt and 70 dollars/mt for ore used at its Saldanha and inland steel plants, respectively. The Kumba spokeswoman confirmed that although no new deadline has been set, an agreement is likely sooner rather than later.
