摘要

Objective. - The benefits of physical activity on mental and physical health, as well as on quality of life, are strongly established. However, practitioners are far to be always successful in physical activity counselling. The aim of this work was to develop an algorithm of screening and brief intervention for unsufficiently active people.Methods. - Literature review conducted in June 2008 (Medline, Cochrane Library, and Pascaland BDSP, two French database).Results. - Based on the principles of screening and brief intervention (SBI) promoted in addic-tology by the WHO, a decisional tree was built starting from the question: "Are you doing a physical activity?". It comprises two steps: (1) a screening, by quantifying activity with a validated questionnaire, and (2) a brief advice based on 2007 updated physical activity guidelines (American College of Sports Medicine, American Heart Association). Observations and advices for its practical use are given.
