Second-tier hard coking coal prices edged higher Thursday on low spot availability and robust Chinese demand. Platts assessed HCC 64 mid vol 50 cents higher on day at $85.50/mt CFR China, which equated to $77.75/mt FOB Australia after deducting Panamax freight. Premium low vol HCC was stable at $90/mt CFR China.
