Met coal steady, domestic prices could weaken

Spot prices in the Asian metallurgical coal market were steady Wednesday as participants in China reassessed trading plans following the recent sharp declines in most product segments. Premium low-vol hard coking coal pricing was unchanged at $92.50/mt CFR China, equating to $83.30/mt FOB Australia netting back with Panamax freight. Meanwhile, the HCC 64 mid-vol assessment was also steady at $85.50/mt CFR China.
