Bharat Coking Coal bottomline at Rs 156 crore

Ailing Coal India subsidiary, Bharat Coking Coal Ltd, is in the black by registering a Rs 156.11 crore profit from operations for the first time since its inception in 1971. In 2006-07, the company pegged a total capital expenditure (capex) of about Rs 290 crore. Having jumped on the profit track, Bharat Coking Coal hopes to wipe off its entire accmulated losses and turn its negative-Rs 4,962 crore - networth into a positive figure within the next five to six years.
