Turkish scrap prices rise on stronger trades

Turkish scrap prices rose Monday as talk of trades out of the US and UK circulated the market. An electric arc furnace-based producer bought a UK-origin cargo via a trader, containing 18,000 mt of heavy melting scrap I/II (75:25) at $246/mt CFR and 4,000 mt of bonus at $263/mt. The deal was confirmed to be for shipment in the first week of May. The price would normalize to around $256/mt CFR on an 80:20 basis, but it was unclear whether any other accepted market differentials would apply.
