US-based Peabody sells Queensland met coal deposit

US miner Peabody Energy has sold its Wotonga coking coal deposit in Central Queensland, Australia, to local coal exploration company Stanmore Coal for up to A$7 million ($5.4 million). The operations are located about six miles east of Moranbah and 85 miles southwest of Mackay within the Bowen Basin of Queensland, according to an exchange filing Wednesday by Stanmore.
