The recovery in Turkish steel exports seen in recent months went into reverse in July, owing to sharp exchange rate fluctuations and uncertainties following the failed military coup on July 15. Exports totalled 1.1 million metric tons that month, down by 18.2% on-year, while the revenue generated from these exports declined more sharply by 24% to $607 million, according to Turkish Steel Exporters' Union (CIB) data sent to Platts on Friday.
