Mexican steel processor and distributor Villacero announced last week it is building a new US$100m logistics complex at Michoacán state's Lázaro Cárdenas port. The complex, 85% complete, is scheduled to open in Q1 2012, according to a Villacero release. Speaking to Steel Business Briefing at the first congress of Mexican steel chamber Canacero in Monterrey, Villacero's industrial business unit director Roberto Marquez Hiriart said, “We are advancing rapidly with the project and very optimistic about it. We feel that we need to satisfy our customers not only in terms of our product, but also in terms of logistics.”
