The UK coil market was sleepy in its first full week back after the New Year, but sourcessuggested the next week could be significant in setting the tone for the first part of the year.German and Scandinavian material was heard to be very competitive, while market playerswere expecting Russian material to have a limited impact. A number of stockholders said theywere not interested in buying Russian-origin coil because of quality issues. “The Russians areon holiday at the moment anyway and aren’t back until Monday so we haven’t heard muchfrom them,” one said.
