摘要

The clouds of smog these days enveloping Tangshan city in north China's Hebei province have led local authorities to instruct steelmakers to slash emissions from coking and sintering operations by a third, Platts learned Thursday. "The Tangshan city government issued the notice (on November 2), requesting that steel mills reduce sintering and coking operations during 8am-4pm and so cut their emissions by 30%," an official from a Tangshan-headquartered company confirmed.
