Hengyang aims for 11% lift in seamless output in 2015

Hengyang Valin Steel Tube (Henggang), a major seamless pipe producer in central China’s Hunanprovince, aims to produce 1.2 million metric tons of seamless pipes in 2015, Platts learned from thecompany Wednesday. The goal represents an increase of about 11% from Henggang’s 2014 output of1.07 million mt, which was the lowest since 2011, a company source said. The low output last year mainlyreflected the mill’s struggle to compete in the difficult domestic and export markets, just like most of itsChinese counterparts.
