Export prices of China-origin hot-dip galvanized coil have rebounded since the start of July but the main driver has been the climb in price in the Chinese home market, Platts learns. Overseas demand remains in a seasonal lull. On August 1 Platts assessed 1.0mm thick DX51D HDG with 120 grams/square meter coating at $465-470/metric ton FOB, implying a midpoint of $467.5/mt FOB that was up $23/mt from the start of July.
