The online logo for Integral Systems promises "complete satellite ground system solutions," which has been the company's expertise for nearly three decades. Enter John Higginbotham, the Harvard business-school graduate who made a fortune in the 1990s raising money for space start-up companies. Higginbotham agreed to come out of retirement last year with the goal of expanding the revenue of the 600-person company after a tumultuous but ultimately failed acquisition bid.
