The Atlantic coking coal market Thursday was looking for price developments in Asia and largely seeing miners and traders waiting it out to conclude new business, while US offers looked to move more in line with the new quarterly benchmark. A third-quarter benchmark expected to conclude in Japan in the low-to-mid-$90s/ mt FOB for Australian miners in the talks would be terrible for higher-cost US coal exports, US sources said.
