Molybdenum oxide powder prices continued to descend Thursday, with market participants not daring to predict a floor as yet, while a European consumer inquiry saw sellers come out in force for ferromolybdenum, where prices also fell. The Platts daily dealer molybdenum oxide assessment range fell to $5.70- $5.75/lb from $5.80-$6/lb. This broke the previous low set August 21, 2003, when the oxide assessment mean was $5.80/lb.
