Mining ban hit Sesa Goa's Fe ore production last year

Indian iron ore miner Sesa Goa suffered a 27% year-on-year drop in ore output during the April 2011-March 2012 fiscal period, it said in a regulatory filing Tuesday. Last year the company produced 13.8 million mt of ore compared to 18.8 million mt in the previous fiscal. About 1.4 million mt of the 5 million mt fall was due to the cessation of mining operations in eastern India's Odisha (formerly Orissa) state since November 2010.
