The latest NPI bid prices set by major stainless mills in early-July were Yuan 1,210-1,230/unit delivered with VAT, which is close to current spot market prices, said sources. “If the bid prices were set lower, spot prices would have been under pressure,” said Wang Haoyang, nickel analyst with Shanghai Metals Market. The recent rebound in nickel prices will also provide support, she noted.
