China might miss nickel capacity targets: AME Group

China may not be able to meet its new nickel capacity targets as the world's second-largest economy struggles to balance its ore sourcing requirements, senior nickel analyst at AME Group Piers Montgomery said Thursday. In 2011, China sourced 53% of its ore from Indonesia, but in 2012 this was reduced by more than half (between May and July) because of export bans imposed by the Indonesian government.
