The soon-to-be-operatingBig River Steel considers itself the world’sfirst “Flex Mill.” With its location in Osceola,Arkansas, on the Mississippi River, BRS hasthe opportunity to be a flex raw materialsconsumer as well.“We think we are well-situated andthat gives us an advantage on inboundscrap freight cost,” BRS Chief CommercialOfficer Mark Bula told S&P Global Platts.“We can pull from different regions andnot be totally landlocked. We can pullscrap from as far north as Minneapolis,Pittsburgh and Youngstown and as farsouth as New Orleans.”
