European Union CO2 allowance prices will trade at an average of Eur9/mt (11.87 dollars/mt) in the second quarter, according to a forecast by Societe Generale Tuesday. “We are past the trough in carbon prices. We will not see Eur6.00/mt for EUAs again, barring a strong recession which is not SG economists' central scenario or a new, adverse change in regulation,” the French bank said in a research note.
