Asia-Pacific coking coal prices pressured by US offers

Spot coking coal prices in Asia slipped a little Thursday, under downward pressure from low-priced offers from the US and in spite of recent wet weather in Australia. Platts assessed premium low-vol at 209.50 dollars/mt FOB Australia Thursday, down 1 dollars/mt on the day. Premium low-vol specifications are 71% coke strength after reaction, 21.5% volatile matter, 9.7% total moisture, 9.3% ash, 0.5% sulfur, 0.045% phosphorus and 500 maximum fluidity.
