Despite delays and reversals, the steel projects of Brazilian mining giant Vale are still a reality, Platts Steel Business Briefing learned from the company's steel director, Aristides Corbellini. The miner plans direct investment of 9 billion dollars for the establishment of the three units: Companhia Siderúrgica de Ubu (CSU), in the southeast state of Espírito Santo; Acos Laminados do Para (Alpa), in the northeast state of Pará, and Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecém (CSP) in Ceara state.
