China’s scrap imports fellto 2.56 million mt in 2014, down 43%from 4.46 million mt in 2013, accordingto the latest data released by ChinaCustoms. This is the lowest since 1998,when imports were 2.02 million mt.In December, China’s imported222,537 mt of scrap, up 14% from194,975 mt in November. Japan, the USand South Korea were the top three sourcesfor China’s scrap imports last year.
