Thompson Creek to idle Endako moly mine

Thompson Creek Metals and its Japanese joint-venture partner Sojitz Moly Resources have agreed to place the Endako primary molybdenum mine in British Columbia on care and maintenance effective July 1, due to continued weakness in the molybdenum market, the US miner said late Monday. Operations at the mine were temporarily suspended at the end of 2014; at the same time, the company’s Thompson Creek primary molybdenum mine in Idaho was placed on care and maintenance.
