Fortescue exports rise by a third in 2014-15

Fortescue Metals Group said Thursday it shipped 42.4 million wet mt of iron ore from Western Australia in the June quarter, taking exports for the full financial year to 165.4 million wmt, up 33% from 124.2 million wmt the year before. The Perth-based company said it would not lift production capacity beyond 165 million dry mt/year — despite its ability to do so — because the market was well supplied.
