Indian HRC export prices rise, sellers hope for more

Transacted prices of Indian hot rolled coil exports to Europe have risen by ?15-20/tonne since mid-August with buyers returning to the market after their summer holidays. Suppliers are lying low however, noting continued transactions at present market prices could hit their profit margins by $15-20/t should the Indian government proceed with plans to end a popular exports incentive scheme by 30 September (see related article).
