Anglo buys stake in Mozambique coking coal

Diversified mining group Anglo American said Tuesday it had acquired a 58.9% stake in Mozambique's Revuboe metallurgical coal project for 540 million Australia dollars (556 million dollars) from private investment company the Talbot Estate. The Revuboe project has a reported Joint Ore Reserves Committee resource of 1.4 billion mt of hard coking and thermal coal suitable for open cut mining, with the potential to support exports of 6-9 million mt/year.
