The seaborne iron ore market declined in the week to 30 September on the back of thinner liquidity and the absence of firm market direction with China's National Day holidays looming. Chinese markets will be closed during October 1-7. Platts assessed the 62%-Fe IODEX at $55.95/dry metric ton CFR North China Friday, down $0.55/dmt from a week ago. The Steel Index's reference price for the same grade declined by 2.3% to end the week at $55.2/dmt CFR Tianjin.
