UAE galvanizer sees no real boost without Saudi recovery

The United Arab Emirates' sole cold rolling and galvanizing plant Al Ghurair Iron & Steel (AGIS) views its domestic market as performing well, allowing it to run at full capacity, despite a drop in the hydrobacrbon earnings of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) countries. The steel companies based in the Gulf need, however, its largest market Saudi Arabia to recover from the current stagnation caused by low oil prices, Abu Bucker Husain, the plant's CEO, told Platts during the Arab Steel Summit in Dubai Wednesday.
