Core sector grows 5.6 percent in February

The infrastructure sector grew by 5.6 per cent in February 2006 compared with 0.8 per cent in the same period last year. During April-February 2005-06, the six infrastructure industries registered a growth rate of 4.5 per cent as against 5.8 per cent in the corresponding period in the previous year. Crude petroleum production registered a negative growth of 2 per cent in February compared. During the same period last year, the negative growth was higher at .49 per cent.
