Study of the Monocarbonate Complex of Pentavalent Neptuniuir (NH4)[NpO2(CO3)]

The single crystals of the Np(V) complex (NH4)[NpO2(CO3)] (I) were synthesized and studied by X-ray diffraction. At 100 K, the crystals are hexagonal, space group P6_3 μmc, a = 5.0734(1) A, c = 10.9191(2) A, V= 243.399(11) A~3, Z= 2, p(calcd) = 4.735 g/cm~3. The absorption spectra of a crystal of I in the visible and infrared ranges were measured.
