Despite the proliferation of online content there still seems to be plenty of life left in the adult entertainment TV channel business, reports Andy Fry. When it comes to the TV channel business, adult entertainment doesn't operate like any other genre. While channels in other categories scuffle for the most prominent place on the EPG, adult channels are tucked away out of sight - so much so that the word adult doesn't always appear on the main menu. There's no cross-promotion outside the adult space and no desire to encourage family co-viewing. The unspoken message is that punters, usually (but not always) men, will know how and when to find such content if they want it.
