Technology companies Alcatel-Lucent, DiBcom, TeamCast and UDcast have joined with consumer equipment provider Sagem Mobiles and satellite operators Eutelsat and SES Astra to demostrate DVB-SH mobile broadcast technology for the first time at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Eutelsat is providing satellite capacity for the demonstration, which uses a combination of satellite and terrestrial infrastructure to deliver mobile TV to handsets. The demonstration involves the broadcast of channels including CNBC, La Sexta, Canal 300, Nickelodeon, 40 Latino, 24h TVE and Teledeporte to handsets in the convention centre.
