摘要

Changes in lifestyle and depletion in the atmospheric ozone layer during the last decades have led to an increase in the skin cancer (both melanoma and non-melanoma). Recently, considerable attention has been focused to identify natural products capable of antiskin cancer activity. The preliminary phytochemical examination of Glycosmis pentaphylla extracts shows the presence of phytoconstituents such as alkaloids, polyphenols and flavonoids. Molecular docking study carried out by Autodock 4.0 and Discovery studio 3.5 revealed that glycosinine secondary metabolites of Glycosmis pentaphylla showed strong binding affinities with protein kinase C, which can lead to disease of impairment of cellular physiological regulatory mechanism such as cancer. Glycosinine shows high binding energy of Delta G -7.15 (kcal/mol) and -17.1238 (kcal/mol) with protein kinase C with Autodock and Discovery Studio, respectively. On the basis of above analysis it was concluded that protein kinase C was strongly inhibited by glycosinine, a carbazole derivative of Glycosmis pentaphylla.
