The possibility for the production of diesel fuel with ultra-low sulphur content up to 10 ppm by blending of middle distillate fractions from the Lukoil-Neftochim-Bourgas hydropuriflcation units as well selection of the optimum additives and their mutual influence have been studied.It was established that in order to meet the requirements of EN 590-99 concerning the production of diesel fuels with ultra-low sulphur content, it is necessary to blend the base fuel with depressant, lubricating, cetane-improving and antistatic additives (in case the depressant additive does not contain antistatic component). The experimental data revealed that the studied additives interact in the bulk diesel fuel resulting in disturbance of the additivity effects at measuring the electrical conductivity and its cold filter plugging point.The three types of additives (lubricating, depressant and cetane) affect mutually the lubrication properties of the fuel. The cetane additive has a negative effect, the lubricating and depressant additives mutually compete at the. sorption on the metal friction surfaces and as a result the lubricating properties of the fuel are deteriorated in comparison with the fuel blended only with lubricating additive.
