The results of a study of the Amelanchier Medik. (Rosaceae) species naturalized in a secondary habitat are presented. Hypotheses about the expansion of A. alnifolia in Russia and the origin of A. spicata (Lam.) K. Koch, A. lamarskii F.-G. Schroeder, and A. confusa Hylander are offered. A reasoned warning concerning the limited use of A. spicata in forest plantations is made.
