Dry Thread Coating System for Enhanced Make-Up Performance of OCTG Pipe Connections

Using a newly developed dry coating system for threaded Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG), premium pipe connections were successfully made-up 15 times, even more often for tubing sizes without any initial and intermediate treatment. Recorded torque-turn diagrams revealed an amazingly steady behaviour after each make-up.
