Field experiments were conducted in Pakistan, to study the effect of different pruning intensities (75, 100, 125 and 150 cm above the ground level) and pruning dates (22 December, 7 and 23 January and 8 February) on the production of phalsa (Grewia asiatica). Analysis of the data showed that different pruning intensities and times significantly affected almost all growth and yield parameters studied. More precisely, when plants were pruned on 22 December and 7 January, at either 100 or 125 cm from the ground, maximum fruit clusters, fruit weight and yield per plant were produced. Based on these results which were fitted by the second degree polynomial model, phalsa plants should be pruned up to 100-125 cm from the ground level and this practice should be conducted from the last week of December until end of the first week of January to obtain the best yield..
