THE CAMPO LIMPO SYSTEM REVERSE LOGISTICS FOR EMPTY CONTAINERS OF CROP PROTECTION PRODUCTS

Ensuring the environmentally correct disposal of used agro-chemical containers is the mission of the Campo Limpo System. It has been operating for over 11 years, becoming one of the largest reverse logistics programs for solid waste in Brazil. A pioneering initiative, the system came into being in 2002, with the passing of Decree 4074/02, the regulatory instrument of Federal Laws 9974/00 and 7802/89. This legislation shared responsibilities among all the links in the agricultural chain regarding the destination and fate of these empty containers.
